Helping pet parents create healthier meals for their dogs
Breed-to-Bowl was built on a simple frustration: every dog is different, but almost every piece of advice online treats them the same.
A Dalmatian and a Doberman should not eat the same diet. A Whippet's nutritional needs look nothing like a Labrador's. Yet most homemade dog food content ignores breed entirely, or pushes one-size-fits-all recipes without any real understanding of the science behind them.
Hi, I'm Sybil, founder of Breed-to-Bowl. I created this site for my dog Basil.
I hold a PhD in science, which shapes how every guide here gets written: starting from the actual research, understanding why things work the way they do, and being upfront about what is still uncertain. We are not vets, and nothing on this site replaces a proper conversation with yours, especially if your dog has existing health conditions. But the science behind canine nutrition is real, and it deserves to be taken seriously.
Every breed guide, every recipe, and every article here is built on that foundation. Real research, breed-specific thinking, and genuine respect for the animals these meals are made for.
At Breed-to-Bowl, we believe every dog deserves food tailored to their individual needs, not generic kibble designed for the average dog. Our mission is to give pet parents the knowledge and recipes they need to create balanced, thoughtful meals at home.
